Getting to Revelstoke --> With the road closures

Is that route super busy? I imagine all the transport trucks are using that route now.

I would imagine all the alternate routes are gonna be pretty busy. South through crowsnest or North through Rocky.

If they dont get hwy 1 open by friday, its gonna make for a pretty congested long weekend on those routes.

The route we took to get there we went through Crowsnest Pass and some of the roads were down to one lane with washouts and it was recommended to us yesterday not to go back down that way.

If you are going the Rocky Mountain House route, listen to the warnings and watch out for deer. There were 3 people within a km that had hit deer and the deer were standing in the ditch watching the cars go by. We hit one and thank god we were in a F150 because everyone was alright, the Nissan Rogue that we passed 30 seconds before was in MUCH worse shape.

The conservation officer told us that because of the floods all the deer have come to the roads to eat/etc and are not used to how much traffic are on these roads now with the highways being closed.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be leaving a bit early tomorrow then since we booked a place to stay in Kamloops before getting into Vancouver.

We came back on Highway 3 from Kimberley on Monday. It was fine.

Just curious if anyone has any updates on how the highway through Banff/Canmore is looking?

I'm guessing they are pressing pretty hard to get it open for the long weekend.....

Sure is. Took me just under 6hrs from Calgary-Rocky Mountain House-Golden. Usually takes me 2.5hrs.

Smooth sailing from Golden to Kamloops last night though. About to drive out to Vancouver.
