There is another explanation too - people get paid for spreading these stories.

That said, it's always a fun topic. *puts on Tin foil Hat*

Anyone find it strange since technology has gone up (high def camera phones) UFO sightings have gone down?

Fixed. Our galaxy is massive, and even if we were somehow able to travel easily within it there would be more than enough to explore for thousands of generations. Even most sci-fi "universes" are actually set in a single galaxy, as trying to imagine the full universe is beyond our mental grasp

Sorry, not adding much, but re-reading this thread, I found this post funny. Amazing how much can change in 6 months.

Hellyer is perhaps less convincing about his own experience with UFOs. He claims to have seen one, but when asked what it was like he said: "It just looks like a star."

He added: "The Star of Bethlehem is one of God's flying saucers."

I love this stuff as they are great stories. It's why the X Files we so popular. We want to believe.

He added: "The Star of Bethlehem is one of God's flying saucers."

It reminds me of the dude who told me about the real Jesus being an alien and that's why humans treated him like a god. The guy was in his 60's and believed every word he said to me. It was a story that went for an hour and it was fascinating. "The first time an Alien was born on Planet Earth and it attracted attention from everyone." It would make a fun screenplay. I listened intently and I didn't interrupt and he went on and on. I wish I recorded it.

I have an easier time believing this explanation than the traditional Catholic version of events. Or Muslim or whatever else religion.

Exactly. It's a lot more realistic to think some advanced beings visited Earth thousands of years ago vs. an invisible all powerful being in the sky sending his son/himself down to Earth to walk on water, die, and get resurrected
