I thought it was ok. I was really annoyed that they almost went out of their way to avoid even the slightest gore shots.

For a Zombie movie it was pretty PG. 3D + shaky cam = what the hell is happening on the screen? Is this another Transformers movie? And for a movie that was pretty non stop action I was waiting for something to happen (not sure what) and it never did...and then the movie ended. The movie was pretty long but by the end I felt it was just getting started. Lack of good supporting actors. Mathew Fox probably got paid a couple million for 3 minutes of screen time. Maybe he plays a bigger role in the sequel?

On the up side...the CGI is much better than it looks in the trailers and they got rid of the kids early...thank god. Brad Pitt is nothing special but decent...better than say...Will Smith or <insert generic action movie star here>.

I wonder if they will add the different ending to the blu-ray. It sounds like they had a completed version with the original ending, so I would love to see how exactly it differs. Usually when you get alternate endings there is rarely any major differences, but in Z everything is different from tone to setting. So I would quite like to check it out when it hits home video just to see that alone.

The same goes with Gangster Squad I suppose, but I doubt we'll ever see the original ending to that one because of the shooting in Aurora last year.

Posted this in the funny thread, guess it belongs here too.
