Will be interesting to watch tomorrow, he seemed to mainly pitch to contact in Texas but he does have some good heat and a plus curve, as he starts getting stretched out maybe the Ks will come.
If they can get 5+ innings from him with only giving up 4 or less, we should be good to go. The pen has been lights out.

I don't know what other people's expectations were of JPA but he's pretty much living up to mine. Not a guy that will ever hit for average but a guy that will hit for power, a little bit more than average behind the plate and a good guy in the clubhouse.

#bluejays begin today at 33-36. One year ago today playoff-bound #tigers were 32-34, #Athletics were 31-36.

I agree with you - right on par with what is expected of him. I think the catcher position could be filled with a better player is all. I'd sacrifice 30 HR, for a .350 obp/15 HR and a solid defensive catcher who can control the running game.

Brandon Morrow had a setback during rehab outing yesterday, re-aggravating forearm. Will be re-examined. #BlueJays

yes the average is about right but it's the way he striking out. Not seeing enough pitches, not putting the ball in play to move runner and just being fooled.

EE with his 19th homer of the year. 6-0 Jays.

Also what's up with his homerun trot? Why does he leave one arm up?

It's his signature move! I think they're calling it "taking the parrot for a walk" on DJF.

I wish I knew how to post .gifs.

^oh ok thanks

Back to back jacks for JP and Izturis. Jays baseball is fun again.

During the win streak including today they have outscored their opponents 41-9. Take out the Wsox game when they won 7-5 and its 34-4. Quite impressive.

Not much of an explanation as to why he does it, but a pretty sweet .gif nevertheless.

Jays looking good so far.

350 OBP with 15 HR is good production for any position that's not 1B or DH. The problem with JPA is that the Jays lineup is currently missing 2 projected productive bats, and 2B is also a weak stick. You can tolerate a guy like JP batting 8 or 9....Batting 6th or higher he gets exposed.

It is crazy what a week can do for the Jays in the standings when they don't lose! Let's hope that this can continue until the end of the season!
