So who does this leave for Dallas? Ruff and a long shot at Tippet?

Ruff should be the next Dallas coach. Natural fit there much like AV in NYR. Who knows though, strange things happen.

Just seem too predictable with his buddy Jim Nill setting up shop there.

Well, at least he won't be coaching any western conference teams. Too bad the Flames can't even entertain any thoughts of getting him the coach. It's hard to fault him for the last two Cup runs after losing to the Bruins in the Finals. I think the Bruins showed everyone how you can stop offensive power houses like the Canucks and Pens with aggressive forechecking and with a huge defense in the back to prevent the smaller skilled forwards from getting in front of the net.

That would be kind of funny after remembering the infamous no goal comment

yep said it right after the firing and I am happy for AV that he got to go a team he can be successful with rather than a rebuild like Dallas

They just have so many players that fit his roster well

the goaltending/defense is very comparable with the Canucks teams, they have a great potential shutdown line around Boyle/Hagelin and AV loves to line match

I didn't think I could hate the rangers any more.... I'd love of Lundquist wanted out now.

Great, now just wait for the Rangers turn into the flop machine that AV loves so much.

A great pick-up by the Rangers. This greatly improves that team.

ha, thats impressive considering the Rangers just won a series and were heading to the 2nd round without a coaching vacancy

Louis Jean@LouisJean_TVA2m

According to source, Alain Vigneault has agreed to 5-year deal w/ #Rangers. Told it's in the $2 Million per year range. #NHL

$10 million for 5 years or less. Can't complain with that as coaches deserve the money the way they get hired and fired.

All indications are that Alain Vigneault will become the highest paid coach in the #NHL #Rangers

I know it was 4 days ago but with the Tortorella hiring, here is the Vigneault hiring link. This coaching swap should be labelled as a trade.
