He jumped into a river and has been missing for three days? ... yeah, not alive, I'm not sure why they'd claim he's alive.

Alive but lost? If he's lost how do they know he's alive? Strange event with such little info available.

Riga has some pretty dense forest area's around the main river. It's possible he jumped in, ended up onshore and got lost in one of the forested area's.

If he left his phone, he probably couldn't call for help and if he isn't in a "normal" mental state should this have been a suicide attempt, he might not be thinking correctly and gotten himself further lost.

This bridge is right in the center of the city - believe me, far away from any forest you can get lost in. Body not found yet so he's still reported as missing but it will be miracle if he's alive.

If he's lost how do they know he's alive? Did he call in or something?

Money Guy....I don't think there is any reason to make humour of this, that's just in very poor taste and displays a compete lack of humanity.

This is really tragic. While I sometimes might claim that hockey is more important than life and death, I don't actually mean it. And I certainly never wish death upon opposing players.

Because they are in shock and mourning.

Probably more that until they get real confirmation they're holding out hope. Hopefully that hope comes to fruition.

Seems unlikely. They've pulled a body from the river, likely that of Pelss.

He was one of the Oil Kings that stopped by the school I was student teaching at a few years back.

I remember he was on that Latvian team when the World Juniors was in Calgary. Clear cut cream of the crop amongst that group. Terrific skater.

Sad to see this happen to such a young person.
