Listened to Bob McCown yesterday and he was talking with Zuan about Thole being the "beginning of the end for JP". I sort of have to agree. JP has not really progressed in the past two years and this year he is arbitration eligible. Given his strikeouts and fairly average catching abilities, picking up a replacement player (such as Thole) may be the way to go.
