Anyone see that crazy blonde woman standing on 4th ave and 10th st (next to the river) that walks between vehicles for money at red the red light? She is always tweaked out and you could tell she was once a normal person - but crack has did her in. She even wears designer clothing! Haven't seen her in a couple of months but if she's not there, then you could usually find her in Kensington.
Yeah my wife often remarks that she has a better outfit than she does. She has different outfits for different seasons of the year. Clearly panhandling is lucrative for her, although her dealer BF may have something to do with that.
You're right, she used to be semi-normal, but you can see the decent into hell for these people. I wouldn't recommending complementing her on her designer style, she mumbles the crazy talk and has a pretty short fuse.
It's this tweaker. Love that she has a Lululemon tank top.
I used to live on 15th and Center SE and there was a young 20 yr old girl who started working the B-Stroll. Always carried a blue-yellow Ikea umbrella. Started out a normal looking fresh faced girl but within 2 years turned into this strung out tweaker with the face of a 45 yr old. Sad really - probably dead by now.

On a separate note, does anyone remember the chubby guy who used to busk Eau Claire with his didgeridoo?
Worst busker ever - he could barely play that thing (and dude even had the touristy Aussie hat to go with - but he wasn't from Australia, of course)

I worked right across the street from Bow Valley Square for a year and those idiots were on that corner every freaking day. Anytime I went for lunch I'd have to endure their stupid little speech.

Saddest thing about her, was you could tell that at one time she was a good looking lady.
I will also add, that I once heard her offer to show her thong to buddy stopped on Memorial Westbound for some cash, she was in low hip jeans and had hooked her thumb under the side of her thong as was point her her hip at his window. Buddy was less than inpressed, it was AWESOME.

How about that dude that looks like Weird Al? I think he usually wears a brown Carhartt type jacket. He's always mumbling stuff and moving around pretty quickly. Really shifty too. Ive seen him dart in and around cars at intersections sometimes.
On the BVS corner, there's also that friendly jolly fat guy that stands on the SW corner by those statues. He never really says much, just tries to make eye contact with you and smiles when you walk towards him. He's always holding up some type of paper or magazine but I never get close enough to actually see what paper/mag it is.
Sadly, he's certainly got a mental disability. He's harmless & non-confrontational. He'll scoop the change from the "leave & penny cup" at the til, to buy his coffee, but that's about it.
He's not perfectly normal, doesn't mean you must vilify him.
does anyone ever come into contact with a big scary neadrethal looking guy right by the homeless shelter and riverside drive. i have to drive by there every morning, he likes to walk out on the street and ask for money... when rejected he just moves on but he looks like he could snap at any time.
That guy is surprisingly calm/non-confrontational. I always think he's going to lose it, he barely ever says a word.

I like the saxo-mo-fone dude, that plays after every flames game at top of the bridge at the saddledom c-train station. No matter how cold it is, that guy is out there.

Crack has a way of making people ugly inside and out, I obviously won't mention her name but I once hired a former miss Calgary, had to fire her for theft within 2 months, 3 years later I could hardly recognize her.
I kick myself for not trying harder to save her as her family are good people.
And what do you think he meant by shifty? He said he was shifty, and then followed up that he sees him dart in and around cars. As in he shifts in and around cars.

Or did you read something I didn't?
haha, yeah thats what I meant. That he walks quickly, changes directions randomly, kind of zig zags...
