I have seen how morale works both ways and just took it as part of the game. When you were down it was hard to get out of that hole and when you were up you were hard to beat. The odd part was that a very high morale actually increased the rating of the player.

Turning coaching off makes sense as unlike the players there is no real way to figure out a good coach from a bad coach. It'd be different if they had stats you could see or some sort of relationship between their salary and how much benefit you get from them. But as it stands now it's kinda like throwing a dart blindfolded, and not even knowing what you hit.
As for morale, I don't mind the way it works now, but I understand if people find it too frustrating. It can dig a hole that seems impossible to get out of.
I seemed to find that morale really seems to improve when you have a lengthy winning streak.
Very interesting that the current model was the least popular. Guess that means people were right to feel funny about it. As I mentioned, I'm good with whatever we decide, things still seemed rather consistent.
As for the scoring it's probably a touch high. But we also do play four extra games.
Oh yeah, what is the reasoning behind that anyway?

P.S. I down with having a coach for fun. It's nice to have someone else to blame.

Just the way the schedule works in the sim. I think I can get an 82 game sched but it means a weird balance in terms of how many times teams play each other. I can't remember how I got to 86.

Cool. Yeah 86 is fine for me (or less or more), was just curious when I mentioned the scoring thing.
To finish that though, because of the extra four games, scoring should be up about 4.5% on the real league when looking at year end stats. It does appear to be a little higher than that. Maybe 10%, but it's doesn't appear to be ridiculously high.

Thanks Grant. I think keeping coaches in name only is alright.

Seems moral and coaching off is the way to go.
I'd like to keep coaches around in name only. I'd like to blame someone too, not just my incompetence.

Thanks for doing this Grant.
I like the idea of leaving the coaches with $0 salary just to have that aspect around for fun... I never liked the morale thing, and hopefully this will help with trades.

Thanks a lot for doing all this Grant, much appreciated! I love that we're abandoning coaches and morale and don't really care if we keep the coaches in name or not.

But does Toe Blake does want to coach your team? Not likely.

Not sure about Toe Blake but I'm sure Jason Blakee's Toe isn't doing anything these days. That would be an improvement to your team
