Since there is no road out of here, it would be cool to bypass the BC Ferries.

A car that could go in the water would seem like a safer, cheaper option for that. I can't imagine a flying car ever being anything more than a toy for the very wealthy.
Self-driving cars, though, will be great. I'm sick of drinking responsibly.

Makes it easier when skynet takes over. We will all come pre packaged in our own high velocity caskets.

Once they have the software to self drive vehicles reliably then MAYBE you could build a personal flying vehicle. Until then, it's silly to think you will get people to invest in the skills to fly.
Having said that, that software is going to exist within 10 years I bet.

We already have flying cars. They are called helicoptors.
This changes nothing.

Agreed, except in stop-and-go traffic. I'd put it on autopilot every single time.

Yah, just the other day this jerk in a helicopter cut me off and flipped me the bird when I honked to let him know he almost changed lanes into me. Oh, except that didn't happen, because the "car" part of helicopters is seemingly absent.
PS: Also, you spelled "helicopter" wrong.
