He's listed on his team site as at a 194 lbs. I heard someone on the tube say he's now at 197. He could probably hit his dad's weight of 207. He's built like St. Louis so height isn't his problem. If he ever starts to fight, say like Iginla, he'll be a great player.

I think he goes to the Jets with their 1st round pick...well ahead of the STL pick.

Flames aren't deep enough in talent to pass over a skilled player for a guy that tops out as a 2nd or 3rd line player in Horvat. Domi is the superior skater with superior skills.

I like Domi, but i have a hard time believing he is 5'10". He is visibly a lot smaller than most on the ice.
Would not mind Domi with the Blues pick ( not that he would be available) but once he is ready for top 6, the flames would have to get rid of Hudler. Flames already have Johnny hockey and Sven as future top 6 and they are small. Add Domi to that list and that's half your top 6 in the small catagory. The other players around them better be big if they go this route.

Disagree. Horvat has the size and speed to play well in the NHL, and has a great scoring touch. Domi I see being a better junior player than an NHLer, while I see Horvat being a better NHLer than he is a junior player. Much more promise in his game, IMO. Granted I only watched 10 London Knights games this year so that's my opinion off of only those games.

I started following him when they had him projected at the Jets pick. Looks like he could go even higher now. Having a solid draft year.

Good player. I'd take him with the Blues pick but I would convert him to wing tho.

As a Knights fan, I've seen him a fair bit.
I think you mis-interpreted my post... by a couple good games, I mean he has happened to get hot at the right time (while the media spotlight is on him).
As a result of that, he is getting more than his fair share of attention. That will likely mean he will end up going higher than he should (though scouts won't be as influenced by the Memorial Cup as most other people will).
Very solid player though, and if he ended up being the Flames 2nd pick, I wouldn't be unhappy.

They may have been rounding up but on one of the Sportsnet broadcasts they said he was 200.

Not super impressed by that play. It's the CHL. Flash is the norm in that league.
He'll be a player, but I'd be surprised if it's anything more than a tweening #2/3 centre.

What?
You are criticizing him because he plays in the CHL?
And since when is flash the norm in that league?

If you think he's gonna be a first liner and there's a bigger player who projects to be a second liner, I'd hope we take the first liner in this case.
Personally, I'm not concerned about Domi's size because he's built like a tank and can hang on to the puck on top of everything else he's capable of.

What world do you live in where 5'10" is a midget? Maybe we should look for the next Chris Chucko? You see the hits this kid can dish out? He's a player and he will be a top player for whatever team that drafts him.

Yeah that's why I would take Domi over Horvat. All the reports for Horvat say he's ideally a 2nd line center and lacks elite offensive skills and skating to be 1st line. If he's not a point a game player in the OHL I really don't like his chances of being a top 6 forward in the NHL. That said if Domi is taken and Horvat is available I wouldn't be disappointed if the Flames picked him as he looks like he could be a useful player in the mould of a Martin Hanzal. He's actually the type of player the Oilers should be targeting.

Everyone wishes they were at least 6'0 - on the contrary. I'm not holding my breath for the Flames to move up in this draft. So either way - moot point.

Hey, I agree with you but I wouldn't class Max Domi as a midget. He's about the same size as Tootoo and Tootoo isn't held back by his size. Yeah, we've got too many small soft players but Max wouldn't be one.

Domi could easily end up being Sam Gagner 2.0. He would be a pretty risky pick.

Gagner will probably be a star as soon as he gets away from that nightmare he's been in for 6 years!
If Domi drops to our 2nd pick they would be totally ######ed not to take him. Moot point, he goes top 12 anyway.
