I have popped my knee it seems once a year for the past 7 or 8 years. Bad osteoarthritis in the right knee with a tonne of patellofemoral pain. My knee sounds like velcro being ripped off when it bends...

I wore one of those little bands to keep the patellar tendon tight and that seemed to help quite a bit. Especially for ball and golf etc, nothing for hockey.

The thing that helped me the most was an American version of a glucosamine pill that really seemed to work. After a few weeks my pain subsided and I was really able to get at my exercises and really work on the knee strength.

Mostly pain free now where as a year ago I was in constant pain and bad aches throughout the night. Now just dull aches when I really over do it, like three games of ball in an afternoon or two many squats.
