Goaltending these playoffs

Yup, didn't think it could get any worse. I was pleasantly surprised.

I should have clarified better...the rough ratings are based on historical body of work, and very much open for discussion.

I think it's a fair point that Price is really streaky, and the recipient of tremendous media hype. He is often put in the same category as Quick and Lundqvist, but looking at his body of work, I would say it is unwarranted. He certainly has the potential to be that good and hopefully that happens in Sochi!


I didn't follow SJ much this year, but perhaps it is time to rethink Niemi. He seemed like a classic case of solid goalie (on a very good team) that wouldn't lose games, but wouldn't steal them either (in the same vein as Howard, Crawford, etc.). Being in a small west coast market, he probably does not get enough attention from the media. This is only his 4th season, and he has a cup ring and has been to the third round...

He's been above average IMO .its a tough call who gets the job next year. The best Canadian goalies have been only decent the last few years(Crawford Elliot ) but most have been a poopy( ward brodeur luongo) decent goaltending might end up or only choice. I suppose we can pick a goalie that is on fire in decber though

Surprised to see this thread idle after Fleury and Schneider duel for the least clutch performance in the playoffs this year. Not sure who was worse.
