^You can't even get that stuff anymore, what you saw was probably some sort of fertilizer.

Looking good. Yeah, that rain was awesome for my lawn, too. I did an angle cut yesterday in both directions for a diagonal checker-patterned look. I drank a beer in my front window staring at it like a dork for like 20 minutes after I was done.

Dandelions...lots and lots of dandelions from the previous owner of the house. Seriously, a lot...we're trying to remove them by pulling them out, but I can tell we're not getting the full root every time. I honestly think there are close to 1000 on our front lawn alone. (Average sized lawn). I looked online and saw that if you boil down vinegar and spray them with it, that can work...but it seems to have mixed reviews.

What methods/products work best? Also, my fiance runs a day home, so obviously that restricts our choices as far as chemicals go...

That would be Weed Be Gone. We sell it at Lowe's. The Killex is also available as an attach to hose spray (covers 8,800 sq ft) and is $17.99.

I did a small test this year. Used both Weed Be Gone and Killex on my lawn. I found they both worked. The Weed Be Gone worked a bit quicker. The Killex took a couple of weeks to show the full effect. Overseed your lawn - and don't forget to use some lawn soil at the same time. Its no good if the seed gets to germinate and then the roots find they have no where to go. Consistent watering is important for your lawn. Neither over nor underwatering will do. A great tip is to put an empty tuna can on your lawn when you turn your sprinkler on. Time how long it takes to fill the can with water and that is how long you need to water for twice a week. A two to three inch cut is also optimum.

You are not alone. My wife came out and asked why I was mowing the lawn twice. Women just don't understand

I tried the Weed-be-gone (a.k.a. rusty water) summer before last. It didn't do anything. If I sprayed 1/2 the bottle on one dandelion, it would turn brown for a few days.

Killex works.
