Yah, it was a bit painful to watch. He knew exactly what hit they were talking about. If he would have just said "no comment", it would have come off better. Saying he doesn't even remember the hit makes it seem like he didn't give a crap about potentially hurting another player.

Lucky to get only one game. Good explanation by Shanahan.

Definitely deserved something. One game is better than nothing.

Brown got 2 regular season games. Ference is in the playoffs and should only be fined. He should have been ordered to buy Shanahan a happy meal next time they meet up. How soon we all forget the standards.

Good call on the 1 game suspension I think, but, are all elbowing penalties now suspension worthy? Does any ref just call elbowing anymore without it going for review? I'm aware there was no call on this play.

His primary target was the head. That is why he was suspended.

Yeah he had to be suspended. It looked lie a deliberate and completely unnecessary shot to the head.

I liked Ference. Well..I still do, but he's gotta be careful. Glad Grabo is okay.

I think that one game suspension is a good decision.

Shanahan is a turd. He finished his career with about 2500 PIMs and that's good for 22nd all-time. They couldn't have found a better candidate? The whole player safety department is full of turds. They're all so far up their own asses. Basing suspensions on injuries is ridiculous. One of the worst hits in the modern NHL was nearly completely legal besides a slight interference call, and it nearly killed someone. Point is, injuries happen all over the board, because it's hockey, the worlds toughest sport. If I unintentionally elbowed Crosby, and didn't hurt him, I'd get 5 games, if I intentionally elbowed Cooke, and hurt him, I'd get 3. What's happening to this game?

And just to clarify I'm not disagreeing with this hit specifically, but a lot of their decisions are pretty biased.
