Can you eat the fish out of Carburn? Or anywhere in the city?

Alberta fish and Wildlife do not want us eating any fish THIS summer. No one is too sure how adversely affected the fish stocks are due to the flooding, so they are asking for voluntary catch and release fishing all summer. That being said I would have no reservations eating any fish from the Glenmore res, elbow, bow or even Carburn ponds. Not pike though. I don't like pike, just trout from the Calgary area.

To each their own, but I wouldn't eat fish from the Bow. I very rarely keep any fish anyway, but with used condoms and things like that floating down the river its not my cup of tea. There are quite a few fisherman who won't even wade it without waders, let alone eat the fish that live there.

The Regulations recommend that you not eat more than one fish a week from the Bow, at the best of times.

Went to Chain Lakes today. Gorgeous weather but not a nibble between the 5 of us. The kids had a great time on the "beach" and the playground though.
