Yeah I was surprised. I'm going to be in Vancouver for Friday night and a buddy of mine who lives out there just asked me if I want to go to the game. Thought tickets would of been sold out by now. Either way free hockey and beer i'm in.

It happens in most markets when a team is overly successful over the years but fails to win championships and disappoints in the playoffs. Once the Canucks go into a downturn there will be lots of empty seats.

It's funner to watch the games in the bars in Van/Vic. Usually always full.

I'm definitely not. That Boston cup was their year and they blew it. That core is never getting back to the SCF again. They can desperately try to fit in all the Garrisons and Roys they want. They peaked. If you need the right opponents to make it, you never had a chance anyway.

Those prices seem like kijiji prices, no joke thats ridicioulus. In 2004 (I know it was a long time ago and price have gone up) I paid $95 for Stanley Cup Final tickets in the 300's. Which is a good $20 cheaper then the cheapest tickets I could find for game 1 for the Canucks. I guess it just been awhile for a Flames playoff game because I always thought it was pretty reasonable to pay $65 for the press level seats for round 1. I dont even know if it was as high as $65?

Are you sure? People camped out over night regularly at the Dome to get a chance at the few remaining playoff ducats. Tickets to a Flames game back then was very hard to get. I always found people to use my ST back then if i couldn't go.

I don't blame the fans if prices are that high. Good for them.

Tickets have been ridiculous for a long time, they have been 2nd in the league I believe the last 5 years behind Toronto, I understand supply/demand, all their tickets get sold so it's not something to really complain about

having said that, 450 for 2 people (not club seats) in round 1 is silly, add to that a little bit of 'been there before' and I am not surprised round 1 is having issues

I wish in times like this there was a process to give tickets to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to go to games just to get the crowd in to it, it's so corporate in the lower bowl anyway (prices)

I know some of the bigger European football clubs give thousands of tickets to early round cup games that wouldn't normally sell out

Harder to get HELOC money when your condo is losing value. Mix an economy that was built upon selling each other's houses for increasing leverage and higher ticket prices and all of a sudden no more sellouts.

It's the prices and apathy for first round with effects of their 2011 run. People will still watch, but it won't be a hot ticket unless they go on a run.

I remember after a bunch of years of Atlanta Braves winning the AL East, they had trouble getting good crowds to their first round playoff games.

It's never one thing, but I get the impression they'll have no problem being the hot ticket in town if they go the 2nd round.

Come on....if the canucks are mediocre the Flames must be worse then crap by your logic.

I for one hope fans start staying away more often. Show these teams we won't just blindly pay what they ask.

Just did a quick search and tickets are still available at $411/seat! Jeez.
And am I reading that right, there's no aisle between 100 seats!? Haha ridiculous

That Sharks series especially I remember walking in and getting tickets for the first game and the building was at least 2000 below capacity.

When I turned 30 something I told a pal that im one foot in the grave, and doing a balancing act. He told me soon apathy would set in and I wont care that I'm half way to death. I watched Calgary win a cup as a boy, hope apathy lets me see the next, before my other foot.

Yeah, if you want to go to the bathroom you've got to cross in front of about 100 other people to get to the aisle.

Not in the 80s, but it was embarrassing in the 90s.
