Nice moves by Daugavins and good save by Lehner there.

Game is on NBCSN and TVA Sports in french.

It is currently 1-0 Senators late in the first period. Go Senators.
This could be the start of a best of eight series if Boston wins this
in extra time.

Peverly scores on the power play with 3.4 seconds left in the second period, 2-1 for the Senators. Nice assist by Wade Redden.

The Sportsnet East feed is being used by NBCSN.

That has to drain Ottawa's energy, Seidenburg scores 14 seconds into the third period.

I know people complain about him, but I really like Jack Edwards' play calling.

3 +1/2 minutes to go and the Sens take a 3-2 lead. Pageau scoring for Ottawa

Turris gets an empty - netter. Looks like the Sens will win

So the Eastern Conference Quarter finals look like this:
Pittsburgh vs. NY Islanders
Montreal vs. Ottawa
Washington vs. NY Rangers
Boston vs. Toronto

Darn, was really hoping that Canada would get the classic Montreal - Toronto series.

Still, happy that there's at least one Original Six matchup, and for the first time since...whenever, all Original Six teams made the playoffs. Great for hockey.

I would guess all three series featuring Canadian teams will be on CBC. They'll stagger the Eastern games on different nights and all the divers games are at 10:30 EST anyways.

The Senators win, thank you. Viewers will not be subject to excessive advertising by the CBC about the Leafs and Habs.

The CBC gets the first two picks of the eight playoff series and many people predict that the Bruins-Leafs and Canucks-Sharks series will be on HNIC. The Canadiens-Senators will be televised by TSN and RDS.

Interesting, but if the CBC gets the first two picks, it would be ######ed to not take take the series that give them Leafs, Senators and Habs viewers, as opposed to the Leafs and Canucks?

I mean, obviously only if the NHL is willing to stagger the Leafs/Bruins and Habs/Sens series. Which I'm sure they'd be willing to do.
