We needed the L's. Slack off for Bakrov was in full effect.

I hate to be one of those "my sources" people, but Kipper and Hartley didn't see eye to eye.
Hartley wanted kipper to earn his spot just like anyone else, of course keepper felt like he already has. We all know Kipper has stated that the only way he will play in the olympics is if he is guaranteed starting role. It is just like that and next year is no different. Kipper is gone next year. Especially if Hartley is still around.

It go to be fairly bad between the two of them. Where kipper would be standing on the bench right at 8:59 waiting for 9:00. Not going to give his boss one extra minute of work.

I feel like if that were the case, he would have accepted a trade elsewhere.

Not that I believe his sources but probably the main factor in him staying was his newborn.

MacDonald right now gives the Flames the best chance to win, that is why he was playing. Like it or not Kiprusoff has sucked this yer and MacDonald has outplayed him by quite the margin.

Love it! Our outlook on the future would be worse if there was no one who outplayed Kipper.

Perhaps if the family situation wasn't so tumultuous and next year wasn't the final dive year of his contract.

Sorry to bump this but there was talk that there was talk of a second team outside of Toronto that was interested in Kipper but the cap hit next year scared the team off. If we could take salary back and Kipper agrees to come back, wonder if we could still get something for him? Was thinking maybe we could trade him to a team to get to the floor but with the cap going down that probably won't happen.
