How do you not tank the next 2 seasons if you can grab someone on Crosby's level....wow.
That article was posted before he scored a second consecutive hat trick in that tournament. 6 games, 8 goals & 14 total points. Safe to say the guy is on another level all-together. Looks like he may have missed the semi-final against Finland though.

What are you basing this on? Outside of Backlund, Sven, and Brodie, we have no idea what this team is going to look like at all.

Bump.....this kid is damn good.

I will cry tears of joy if we can get him somehow...some way....even finishing last doesnt give you the #1 overall pick.....that team in 2015 is going to be SET for a long long time.

21 GP with 6 Goals and 29 Assists for 35 Points...

Its not even his draft year......

Sell everything Feaster....Baertschi + Gaudreau + First round pick 2015 to get the #1 overall pick.

Line up of Connor McDavid, Sean Monahan, Sam Reinhart/Aaron Ekblad as your future cornerstones is well just .... makes me excited!

It's too bad a generational talent like McDavid will rot in Edmonton...

I want him on this team very much, yes.

That why next year I'm hoping we bring in Gaudreau and Poirier, keep the goalie situation the same. We can lose every damn game 7-6, the kids can rack up their points and at the end of the day we're still a top 3 pick and an excellent shot at McDavid.

The kid will be an instant impact prospect, too. Like Ovech and Crosby. The 15/16 season after we draft him, we'll then bring in a nicely developed Jon Gilles and make a charge for the playoffs.

This kid will make Ferland look good like Crosby makes Kunitz look good.

if things don't line up at the deadline/offseason, where we aren't able to land some top end talent thru trades/free-agency (as it seems management is set on doing, as they keep mentioning our cap situatoin), then i wouldn't mind going with, more or less, the Heat team from this season playing in the NHL next season just to try to grab this guy.

If he's touted to be crosby good, then it will be worth it.

If he's crosby good. Good luck trading anything to anyone with a first as they'll all forgo the "win now" mantra to get him. Only way to nab him in 2015 I think is for the Flames to win the Lottery, and I'm having doubts that can happen.

*Puts on Crosby tinfoil hat* He will go to a struggling franchise on the verge of bankruptcy as they miraculously win the lotto

He will probably end up in Pittsburgh, when it comes to "luck of the draw draft" they seem to have it.

I think Feaster should be trading for Edmonton's 2015 1st round pick. And this will be his selling line:

"Well Kevin, player x is a going to be a good young player in the NHL and he is skilled and small, he would fit in perfectly on your club. I also don't think giving up your 2015 is going to hurt you much because, quite frankly, you're building something special up there and will be tops in the league. So you're not giving up much to get this player whom you assuredly highly covet. I don't have to tell you anything about winning, you know all about it, so you should easily recognize that with this trade has winning written all over it."

That's the thing. It's freaking impossible to be so bad that you finish last place. There is always somebody worse.

As terrible as we have been this year, there are still 4 teams below us. Unbelievable.

Had it ever happened that a team iced a squad consisting of all their own picks except for 3? I just don't see this happening. That many develop into NHLers? Either that's a terrible team, or we get very lucky

Somebody has to win the lottery. The Flames franchise is due for a lucky break.
