I wouldn't call most of those "moments"... developments sounds more like what you're describing.
My 5 favorite moments...
1: Kipper's solo center ice skate and stick raise to the adoring crowd.
2: Soft-spoken noted non-pugalist Mikael Backlund dropping the gloves in response to someone hurting a teammate.
3: Mark Cundari's first NHL goal (I always find firsties to be favorite moments and that was a beaut) after talking about he was happy to be somewhere where he would finally be appreciated.
4: Max Reinhart's first NHL goal in front of his mom and brother.
5: McGrattan's "Reporting For Duty" post-fight murder-glare salute to the crowd. Fight was useless like all goon fights are but the salute made me smile.
Pretty much nailed my top five "moments". Only others I was thinking of were Iginla's last goal as a Flame and his post-trade press conference

Flames 1st period of the first game of the season (sharks game).
Every line looked amazing, was generating offense, and baertchi had a glorious opportunity (man i wish he didn't hit the bar).
Things were relatively downhill from there. nice to see the kids play well at the tail end, but think i would have preferred a tank down in the standings at that point.
1)Glencross hat trick on western night
2) Kipper first star and standing ovation at final home game
3) Salute to Iggy with a standing ovation to a tribute video the game after getting traded
4) Beating the Oilers on HNIC at the start the season
5) Beating the Oilers again on HNIC at the end of the season
Iginla's Final Goal : at the moment I believed it could be his last.
Possibly Kippers final game.
Glencross's Hat Trick on western night.
Sven's Streak
Stajan-Cervenka-Hudler Play early in the season
1) Moving past Iggy. Was tough to comprehend the trade at first, but it seemed inevitable and it was good to just start focusing on THE Flames again, as opposed to Iggy's Flames.
1- Escaping the black hole that has been 9th-10th place and getting a good draft pick
2- Making steps towards rebuilding
3- Emergence of T. J. Brodie
4- Progress made by Backlund
5- Cundari looking good
1) Rebuild
2) Kipper's Last game
3) breaking Edm's will and front office
4) Vintage last goal for Iggy
5) Colorado saving us from a Benny Hill lvl screw-up
Dont know if its been mentioned; but the last times the Flames ran over the Oilers using a few of their yougn callups against the Oilers high and mighty 1st overall picks and helped lead to Tambs being fired!
- Backlund's emergence into a legit 2nd/3rd line NHLer
- Finally seeing management accept a rebuild is necessary
- Drafting three times in the first round (once it happens anyway, can't wait)
- Watching the prospects, Gilles, Brossoit, Wotherspoon and Gaudreau in particular.
- The Oilers whole season really ; They suck again after their arrogance all off-season. Kevin Lowe gets made to look a right arsehole at the presser hiring MacTavish and has to apologize to their fans. Schultz turns out to be basically a forward playing defence and finishes the season a team worst -20. Oilers re-hire MacTavish and Howson. Yakupov has the goof of the season moment after scoring in overtime. Gagner finally breaks out just as he's due for a new contract. Such a rich season of highlights for them.
1. McGrattan trade
2. McGrattan beatdown and salute
3. McGrattan bouncing the puck off a bunch of bodies and scoring against Columbus
4. McGrattan going end to end against Anaheim
1. The Egg on the media's faces - specifically Kypreos and Aaron Ward's during the Iginla deal. I understand that it was a dark event in the Flames history, but the actual moment when it was announced that it was Pittsburgh was one of the greatest moments in sports. I don't think I'll ever forget the moment when I heard that the entire Hockey world had been punked. It seemed to me that people were losing their minds and everyone was so depressed with the potential return from Boston. The world was about to end. People were snarking at each other on the board about the conditional pick and turned out we were all wrong.
It was pretty humbling to see every arm chair GM and media expert eating crow in a single moment.
2. The play of Reinhart, Backlund, Cundari and Brodie. Even Aliu's play has been pretty exciting.
3. Kipper's last game. I was far more emotional on this one then the whole Iginla fiasco, so with the season winding down the way it did I loved seeing the Flames organization giving Kipper a proper salute.
4. Cervenka's play. It's been an odd season for him, but I really do like this guy. Yes, he's been in the dog house for most of the season, but I've really enjoyed when he's scored and the skill level him and Hudler have brought to the team.
5. Putting the nail in the coffin to the Oilers season.
I have made a quick video of three moments I really liked towards the end of the season. For some reason the audio of the second segment doesn't work, but since a lot of you people don't like Rob Kerr anyway, I doubt that there'll be an outcry because of it
