I guess putting Irving in would be a little too obvious.

There are maybe 6-7 legit full-time NHL'ers in this group of 20 players. Cripes.

I'm glad Carson is getting an extended look. He's very steady as a bottom pairing guy. Good outlet passes & plays a bit bigger than he is. Right-sided as well... Any objections to extending this guy?

I haven't been as impressed, to me it looks like he is hesitant to make decisions and is taking more time than he has available before he tries to make a play.

Tell that to the Coyotes, Detroit, and Ducks that had problems against a fairly similar roster in games that mattered for them.

For those expecting a tank job you're in for a surprise, I would wager. These kids are hungry and want to earn rosters spots. I can't believe but I'm actually looking forward to a freaking Wild game.

In Feasters interview he made it sound like Irving was re-called due to default. He said Taylor was injured and could not be re-called.

I don't mind him at all. In the limited viewing I actually prefer him over Smith.

I'm beginning to think that our AHL team might actually be better than our NHL team anyway.

This is gonna be off the CHAIN buddies.

But really, excellent decision by Feaster to open the youth floodgates now that he can. This is probably going to be a disaster of a first game, but an exciting disaster at that... but it's all about going in the right direction..to a better draft pick.

I've got such a bone to pick with some of these teams below us. I still somehow wouldn't be surprised to see the AHL Flickers out-perform the likes of Tampa, Carolina, Colorado and Nash the rest of the way. They're playing piss poor hockey, and they know it too. Talk about apathy, whether for the sake of tanking or otherwise. I'd be both extremely concerned and upset as hell if I were a fan watching one of these teams do a dead corpse flop to the finish line. Pathetic when you're a Carolina with the likes of Skinner, Semin and Staals on your roster. Just shameful..

Hope we land the lottery pick and get the last laugh at all these losers that tanked so hard while this team played its heart out. It would only be fitting.

Haven't been this excited for Flames hockey in a long time. There are a few bodies in there that should or at least could be on the Flames next year. These guys should all be fighting for spots next year and need to bring it in these last 4 games. Excited for Byron and to see what Cundari can do.

Ya I agree, the NHL draft system is a joke when that kind of crap is rewarded and we're sitting here knowing our team is going to be worse next year because they are giving it 100%. It's been tough to watch down the stretch, hoping for a cup calibre team vs. the fact that most people on the board are diehards who want the Flames to win every preseason game even.

The NHL had a great chance to fix it and go full lottery with way more random during the lockout. Major fail in my opinion.
