Look at what the fans up north have to deal with.
Yeah whats up with that guy in Edmonton? He sounds like he's drunk and slurring most of the time.

The Oilers guy, he's got one of the best Flames goal calls ever...
VIDEO At 1:47.
Will never forget that voice, based on that night...."Theee Calgary Goal (pause)...."
Everytime we've been made the unenviable trip to Rexall to watch Flames games over the past 15 years, whenever the Flames score, it's the same voice speed/tone/inflection, and always reminds me of that April night 1986.

Steve was unceremoniously relieved of his duties by Ken King several weeks ago. You won't be seeing/hearing him again.

A little off topic, but my personal fave has always been a Beezly call of an important Jarome Iginla goal. Jaroooooome Iginla! and the growl on Igin and the release on la. pure magic!

I know Steve and that's pretty much all I got from him. Obviously he wasn't happy about it as he wasn't given any solid reasons for it.

The few times I went to Flames games, Steve voice was a bit more over the top than preferred. I understand the job is required to have excitement in the voice, but not so much that it's like you're on cocaine. I figure Flames would be looking for a tamer version of him (if they haven't found one already).

Don't worry about him...he's selling real estate investments!

Russ Peake was a half step up from Ben Stein. No more, no less.
