Two things.
1. There's two threads already (not a huge deal)
2. Don't think that this is an actual competition. Sure one guy will win, but this is the new thing you're going to see all the time from corperations. It's becoming the new go to viral advertizing/marketing for large corperations.
Step 1: Get two sides of popular battle against eachother (sports teams, cities, etc)
Step 2: Create huge buzz about "the battle"
Step 3: Disregard actual votes, keep totals close so people get excited and spread word on message boards/facebook etc "OMG, we're neck and neck, come on everybody, you HAVE to vote, we can't let sports team X beat us!!!!!!"
The only thing surprising about this one is how close they're keeping the votes, considering the vote count is in the 73000 range. I mean, you'd think they'd at least make it believable.
"OMG, it's 33001 to 33002, keep voting!!!!"
a day later..
"OMG, they're up by 5 votes, we can win this thing!!"
lol
