Kipper had the chance to move onto Toronto. After 9 years of trying everything possible to make it work in Calgary, it's obvious the team isn't going anyhwere. Calgary is not loaded with talent like Colorado. Calgary's team has been blown up and it's full of borderline NHLers trying hard to showcase themsevles. Apples and Oranges.

Giggy should just grow some balls and point out all the Avs who are quit on them so we can stop guessing. hehe

I don't see Duchene being involved. He's busting his butt out there, most of the time, unlike the rest of his team. He's also been fairly vocal about others putting their own interest before the good of the team. And he's not a partyer from what I gather.
Also don't see it being Landeskog. He seems to be a good kid who cares about his team.
O'Brien is a goof and doesn't exactly have the greatest track record. If there is one of the 'stars' being incriminated here my bet is on ROR. Avs didn't treat him very well but he seems to be think very highly of himself. Duchene was vocal about ROR not caring for the team earlier this year.
Maybe Johnson, maybe Jones. Don't see Stastny being one of them but who knows. In my mind there's very little chance it's Duchene and/or Landeskog
|
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Its all speculation anyway.
I'd put my money on Duchene being involved.

ballsy statement.
You basically are throwing teammates under the bus explicitly, while leaving names out. Though everyone in the dressing room knows exactly who he accused, which is never a good thing to be doing when you're a teammate. Good on him though, the avs results vs talent just don't add up.

Yeah, I've only watched 2/3 of the 2 Flames-Avs games but I thought Duschene/Landeskog were both playing pretty hard. Landeskog I would love to have on my team, seems like a real competitor.
What did Duchene say about ROR?

The situations arent even remotely close.
Kipper is at the end of his career, the very end. Hes going to be playing in net in Finland next year.
And the team in front of him isnt under-achieving, they are where they are because thats the team they are.

How do you know he hasn't said it in the locker room too? Maybe he's fed up of saying it in the locker room over and over.
It's pretty atrocious the way some of these playes are playing. Johnson making almost 4 mil a year, with 4 points on the season? This team is just too good top to bottom to be where they are.

Wouldn't mind him on the Flames next year with that mentality. We could use that

An important trip that people are planning or looking forward to does not mean they aren't trying.
If my work had that attitude I would be gone, seriously. I am on a big project right now and I am certainly going to be taking a holiday. Players don't have that luxury, but to claim their planning a holiday is ruining their gameplay is crazy.
If the penguins on a massive winning streak talk about a vegas trip it is called team building. A losing team and it is called giving up.
Dude should have talked to his mates in the locker room, not the media.
On the other hand, if a vegas trip post season takes away their desire to compete, I suggest the Flames start planning one now.

You mean a 1 hour flight from Denver, thats $69 from Southwest is a trip they've been planning for weeks?

The dressing room is already probably a mess at this point. There's probably several players and staff who scream at the top of their lungs after every loss, and another group who just laughs it off.

I know for a fact that some players do go to Vegas during the middle of the season. A friend of a friend was a very high profile player for an NHL club. We all met him in Vegas briefly. I'm not sure how late his night went though. Maybe he called it an "Early" one.
This year might be a bit different with the compressed schedule.

lol basically think the same thing. That took some brass one's for Giguere to come out and make that statement. My guess is there is a handful of players that have been going on about how great their trip is going to be in the locker room. Not very good team mates being unfocused like that if it was during a game possibly.
It is kind of like making a big joke of the season is the way i see it, maybe they should be thrown under the bus so to speak.

The only time they could is during all star break and even then it would be a couple days only....the rest of the season they would be at practice on days off.

Nope.
This was during the season, but looking at his team's schedule I can see that he had a 3 day break. He'd played a game the night before. I don't know how long he was in Vegas for. I know for a fact he was there though, as I saw him. He's a guy currently on a top contract, so it wasn't some AHL callup either. He was a highschool friend of a guy I was in Vegas with. This was in November of 2010.

Vegas is overrated. It's a great place for people that don't party hard to have a wild time. I like getting that rowdy most weekends so it wasnt a huge step up in my opinion. could have more fun for 1/3 the price in whitefish montana.

Landeskog would be the organiser of the trip, I would think. I mean, he is their 19-year old captain.

When Forsberg was attempting a comeback in 10/11, didn't he say the dressing room was a mess? I can't remember the details exactly.
