Sorry to have backed out at the start of the season, but I was right to do so.. I have watched maybe 3 or 4 games total this year. Having a baby born on the eve of the NHL season is not at all conducive to watching hockey.

I never read them. After watching the game and then listening to the post game show or watching the highlights and post game analysis my head is already saturated with everything there is to know about that particular game.
From CP's perspective, is it worth the time to write the game story's? I'm not criticizing the content as I don't read them. Is there a way to measure how many people are actually reading the stories (I'm not a tech guy, page views maybe)? If it's purely for fun or a hobby that the writers enjoy then all the power to them.

I discovered this site while I was in Toronto in 2000 or 2001. I was starved for Flames news and frequented this site specifically for the articles. I always found them thoughtful and well-written. I didn't even check the forums until late 2001. The point is - I appreciate the articles and hope more people step up next year to help. Thanks

I don't miss the game flow description or goat/hit/save of the game - I get that from other sources. I always go straight to the notes to get the writer's personal observations and more obscure news.

thanks for the feedback guy, it's good to know the writing is appreciated
Maybe when we go back to actual game stories I'll make it more commentary and less about hits and saves?
Either way it's good to hear comments

LOL - this is the benefit of not being a professional journalist, and instead being a sports entrepreneur. Imagine if you had no choice but to writeup every game. Ouch!

I know a number of us submitted articles a couple months ago for this exact thing, but never heard anything back. Are those people (myself included) still on a list or somesuch?

Hahahah yeah I know Nah I submitted a game article of the likes I used to do a few seasons back, but never heard anything back, good or bad. If it was truly horrible I want to hear that too, so I can learn and get better.

When I discovered CP (about 10 years ago and it had some old URL including letters "addr" or something), it was mostly to read articles by McGrath, Charlton, Ciampa and forgot who was the fourth guy. Over the years, though, I moved to read forum and never read game stories or any other articles. Cowperson's writing style influenced my english writing a bit though.

Enjoy them but must admit that with the team fading from the playoff picture, my interest fades too. Bingo, enjoy the vacation without a computer.
