Can't wait til we start signing expensive UFA's and trading our first rounders/meager prospect pool for veterans in the off-season. If that ends up happening I'll probably end up boycotting watching the Flames for a while.

Not saying that will actually happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does based on our recent history.

Forgive people for being gun shy after the last three years that Flames management have led us by the nose to this seasons mind numbing, pride swallowing, siege.

Terrible thread.

This title and thread is just as bad as posting a "Phaneuf is the best in the NHL" thread because you heard it on tv and missing the part after best where he says "pylon".

I recall the same convoluted statement the day after the fleury trade....clearly we as fans are doomed.

Yep, No question. Everyone needs to relax and take a chill pill here.

We don't even know if Murray Edwards placed a call to Jay Feaster last night, let alone what was said during the 'alleged' conversation.

I'm going to need some 'proof' a little more solid than the GMs response to a question from the media.

Besides, even if that is what transpired, Ken King already did an interview where he explicitly stated they don't stop jay feaster or anyone else in the organizations from making moves or not making moves. He even went so far as to define what meddling and interfering means to the organization. Who are we going to believe, some general manager from the East Coast or the President of the hockey club?

So, the plan this off season for the Flames is to target younger players (who have not yet peaked) from all the panicking teams who are trying to get under the cap.

Given the number of people that supported the ROR signing and those in other threads clamouring to use the cap space on expensive UFAs, I don't think Edwards is unjustified. It seems like many people can't stomach a long rebuild and expect instant gratification.

Edwards didn't tell Feaster "Make the playoffs or else!". It was more of a make it the goal to make the playoffs instead of just saying, well, we're not going anywhere this year, so try not to be embarrassed with your losses. Without having a goal to be successful you just promote an acceptance to lose.
