He played for the Flames more than 10 years ago, same as Chris Drury.

Feaster was so busy with the trade deadline, he didn't know Gaudreau was a finalist until Calgary media told him.
Said he is going to talk to Gaudreau about going pro later this year

Also mentioned that Gaudreau and Agostino are "best buds". Kinda cool.

I've really enjoyed watching this kid in the world under 20 and NCAA tournaments. He is such a smart player. But can he make it to the NHL? Wiki lists him at 5'6", 150lbs... what are the odds that he makes it to a starting NHL job?

he is 5'9, 170 now is the last i read about him.
Either way the chances of him going pro next year i'd say are slim to none.
He and his family are pretty set on him spending at least one more year at BC
I wish he'd turn pro though, would be very exciting!

It would be cool to see him turn pro and do well but I don't think next years flames will be a great place for him to do well. I think we need to have a couple young players like baertschi and horak establish themselves and be present to help our other prospects know what to expect rather than just throw a bunch of young kids on the ice. The pedigree of this kid keeps getting better but we have to maintain some patience

Odds are good. He is one of the most productive 19 year olds in the history of NCAA hockey.

I keep seeing people say this but have seen nothing to indicate it is actually true. I am not going to go into specifics but it is absolutely possible that he could be playing pro in the next month, much less next year. Not saying it will definitely happen but I can say with reasonable certainty that it is very possible.

I think it's because his younger brother is joining the BC Eagles next season.

And will have a better chance at cracking their lineup if Jonny leaves.

I think it's all up to Johnny at this point. If he wants to turn pro, he'll have a contract. If he wants to stay at BC and play with his bro, he'll do that. The Flames are leaving it up to him.

I think he'd consider going pro if he were promised a spot on the Flames, but he's better off staying at BC where he'll have more time to hit the gym than he would be playing for the Heat.

I know his size will always work against him, but man, it's hard not to get excited about this kid. After seeing so many other teams have late-round gems turn into success, I'm really hoping Johnny can be our steal. God knows this team could use a break one of these decades.
Gotta give it to the scouts, these are types of chances I love for a team to take with a 2nd round+ draft pick.
Not to get greedy, but can you win the Hobey Baker twice? With him probably going back next year, it would reason that he would be even better next year.

I'm a big believer of the USHL and feel it is a really good evaluating ground. If you look at it over the last ten or so years, there have been a lot of really really good players who were there prior to NCAA. That's why I was very disappointed Jankowski decided to forgo a year there with an excellent franchise and coach - would have really helped his development.

Both LeBlanc and Hartzell are free agents. It'd be nice to have a guaranteed Hobey Baker winner....
