Choklat drives me nuts because the guy who runs it is too cheap to accept credit or debit cards-- I wrote him once to complain and he basically said he didn't want to pay the credit and debit fees. You make a "premium" chocolate and charge 12 bucks for a chocolate bar and you only take cash? Seriously? It's delicious, but I rarely carry cash so I never buy that stuff.

Yeah he's a bit of a nut, I did a project a few years ago where he provided some stock in exchange for some cross promotion for his store and he raised a bit stink after the fact about the size/placement of his branding information. Like everything he provided & received was what he agreed to, but some how he was surprised when he didn't get more than what was listed.
Good chocolate... odd person.

I've yet to try Papa Chocolat.

FYI for all. The only major change to the old company was the removal of Bernard Callebaut (the person) himself. The same chocolates, recipes, staff and chocolate have remained.. Including the master chocolatiers themselves. Yes, it is more competitive now and there is more upscale chocolate on the market to compare, but the quality and processes have remained the same.
For those who think that only a bad land deal scuttled the business, I encourage you to visit Deloitte's website under insolvency and restructuring. There's plenty of nuggets about questionable business practices etc. that no longer bog down the company.
And Bouw, you can have thes chocolates delivered to you in AZ by visiting their website.

From what I gather it is just a share related issue. They filed a document with the ASC to allow them to issue securities, which was then determined to have a couple issues. So they have to put those securities that were issued based on the incomplete, on hold, effectivly, until they get it sorted.
More of an administrative issue I'd imagine. They're not shutting him down or anything...yet

Oops!
Bernard, if you are on here, next time hire a better securities lawyer. (I am available if you send me a PM :P)

That's the only way you'll get paid.. I 'have a feeling' this is just the beginning of more issues for Mr. Callebaut..

Callebaut, who admits to taking a number of items from his former company, told Court of Queen's Bench Justice Barbara Romaine Wednesday.
Callebaut, who ran the original Bernard Callebaut until it was placed it in receivership last summer, is back in court as part of that process.
Receiver Deloitte & Touche had asked the court that he be found in contempt after items valued at about $150,000 - including more than 200 boxes of bulk chocolate, moulds, packaging, computers and sculptures - were removed from the company.
While most of that has been returned, with a few minor items still in dispute, Deloitte & Touche's lawyer Kelly Bourassa said the actions of Callebaut and his wife Francesca were "in complete contravention of the court order, which is a serious matter."
Romaine, who also called it "a serious matter," will rule this morning on restitution and whether there will be an additional financial penalty.
The receiver has spent $55,000 to deal with the issue of the removed items, Bourassa said, while the new owners have also spent time and money trying to sort through what was missing.
