Still use him to either do damage to ppl standing in front of the opposition goalie or just use him to the end of the season and see if he needs to be re-signed. Hate to see another cannon from the point let go because a coach doesn't know how to use him properly. When Babchuck was used properly, I thought he was effective on both ends of the ice. He's definitely way more effective than Butler on the point.

Giordano Wideman
Butler Sarich
Smith Babchuk

Then get what you can for Babchuk.
Brodie is an NHL defenseman. He doesn't need to be in the AHL, nor does he deserve it. Screwing with him to trade Anton Babchuk is absurd.

He had terrible attitude problems in CAR which is why Rutherford got rid of him, as he wanted more ice time after having a good stretch of games.

He was happy here for half a season, demanded more, and played well. Enough to convince Feaster to sign him for 2 more years somehow, and then the level of self importance set him on this.

Now, he's clearly out of shape...the game or two he played a couple weeks ago, Sarich looked like a bullet train compared to him.

He was great, until Sutter mishandled him

He always had sheltered minutes, yes even under Big Meanie Brent (one of the best years of his career) ... pretty obvious to see his had huge deficiencies in his game... can't believe management/Feaster thought this guy would be a top 4 guy and get 50 points. Huge mistake.
