One of the most memorable quotes, with regards to Stronach at a charity roast.
Quote:
"Now Belinda roasted me as a Conservative but of course now she's a Liberal … And I wasn't surprised she crossed over — I don't think she ever did have a Conservative bone in her body. Well, except for one."

More quotes from over the years, firmly tounge in cheek.
- “You would have to eat 10 billion meals of brains, spinal cords, ganglia, eyeballs and tonsils,” Klein said in 2005 when describing the risk of being infected with bovine spongiform encephalitis, or mad cow disease.
- “I’m no doctor, but I think that Mr. McGuinty’s got a case of premature speculation,” Klein said in March 2006 when commenting on then premier Dalton McGuinty’s statement that Ontario would oppose any Alberta-style health reforms that might lead to two-tiered care.
-“I ought not to have thrown the Liberal health policy at our page, Jennifer, and to Jennifer, I apologize most sincerely . . . And I also apologize for referring to the document as crap, Mr. Speaker,” he told the Alberta Legislature in March 2006 after throwing a Liberal Party health policy booklet and narrowly missing a legislature page.
-“Dinosaur farts” was Klein’s 2002 answer for what might have brought on the Ice Age that killed off dinosaurs.
A funny exceprt with Mercer.
Klein lived a few blocks away from us in Lakeview...where he lived his entire political career, modest house to say the least.
I saw him probably three years ago downtown at lunch in the +15, dressed nicely in a suit and looked to be totally "there" but seemingly wandering...I wasn't aware at the time he had dimensia.

Sorry to hear that he passed. As politician's go he was refreshing and I liked the guy.
My Ralph story - back about a decade ago, I had my first bout of kidney stones and had to go to Rockeyview. I didn't have to wait to long to see a doctor and they sent me for an x-ray and I was about to go in for my x-ray when a guy on a gurney was wheeled covered with a blanket and escorted by an official looking guy. Nurse apologized and said that this guy had to go first. In my head I am thinking this must be someone who survived a bad accident (the blanket) and maybe was in custody (the police looking guy) so I was happy to have my spot go to him, and honestly the pain was subsiding.
When this person was done, and I was getting my x-ray, the nurse confided in me that the person that 'bumped' me was actually Ralph Klein. This was the day after he had slipped a disk harness racing!
Very sad to hear the news. I lost my grandfather to dementia last year, and I can only hope Ralph's passing was as painless and comfortable as possible. Thank you Ralph, for making this province what it is.
