Yeah, I never blame star players when that happens, because I believe the switch of emotions is genuine. You have a player sitting before the media and by extension, the fans, and he's asked to reflect on all the years with one team and the fact that it came to an abrupt end the previous night.
Then later on, he's met his new team, sees the future of his career first hand, and in many cases it's bright (as is the case here) and he's again put in front of the media to discuss the future rather than the past, so his emotions change.

I only caught bits of it here at work but they were saying on the morning show something about Hartley and Feaster not being around this morning for the press conference as they're out of town now trying to court some NCAA free agent? Anyone hear who they were talking about?

Kipper's hand helped too. As did Darryl Sutter (the coach).

I'm wondering if Jarome will shed any tears. He just seems too tough to cry. I for one don't think he will. What does everyone else think?

It's like going through my divorce all over again, except I won't call Iggy a cold-heartless B*tch 2 months down the road

Yes they did. But when Jarome started winning trophies and gold medals in the early 90's, people started wearing Flames jerseys in public again. He was also the main hope of the future that helped the Save the Flames campaign raise the requisite ticket amount. Just as a winning streak often starts before the first game is won, the return of the Flames started before 2004 playoffs and I believe Jarome Iginla is the reason why.

As a big Flames fan I'm sad that this day had to come Iginla deserves the chance to play for a cup favorite. The return for Iginla wasnt mind blowing but watching him lift the cup will be.
Best wishes and look forward to your day with the cup.

Have not cried in 30 + years. If Iggy sheds a tear, my streak could be over.
