Actually Agostino is a forward and the leading scorer for Yale as a junior. Over a PPG.

37 points in 33 games. A bigger less skilled version of Gaudreau.

HOpefully these guys turn out at least like Matt Read.

That'd be a pretty good return if you could pick up two guys like that and a first rounder in a deep draft.

Man Weisbrod and his fascination with college guys...

Neither seem likely.

If you're looking for a star, the 1st is probably your best bet. It gives Feaster the option to roll the dice on something risky.

Have the Flames ever picked twice in the 1st round? Off the top of my head I am going to say no.

I have a feeling that late 1st may be flipped at the draft for a roster player.

Talent Analysis

Ben Hanowski

Quote:
Ben Hanowski is an offensively-minded, goal-scoring forward who brings a mix of size, skill, and character to the rink. The Minnesota native also possesses uncanny vision and does his best work when the puck is on his stick. A shooter by trade, Hanowski has also shown solid puck-distribution abilities and can create either off the cycle or on the rush.

Possessing solid size and supple hands, Hanowski needs to gain more explosiveness in his first step and learn to play a simpler, north-south type of game. He also must learn to become more creative in tighter spaces.

This is how I see it too. I am not pleased with the trade but it is better than the Bruins trade because of the guaranteed 1st round pick.

Guess we don't know what these kids are gonna look like til summer camp. I think Hanowski is a senior and his NCAA career could end fairly soon, at least there's a possibility that he could be signed and assigned to the Heat for the playoff run.

It's probably a good thing that they won't be suiting up for the Flames for a year or two.

Hopefully, Jarome Iginla continues the lineage to the end - when he comes back as a Flames.

So does the 1st rounder continue the Iginla-Nieuwendyk-Nilsson bloodline?

perhaps... Gauthier, Shinkaruk? (the calgary boy)

I do like both of these kids stats, and they're both trending upwards nicely. Aggo looks to be a possible top 6 guy. Both have a few years experience already, on verge of going pro.

At the very minimum, they are pieces which can be used down the road as trade in a year or two if the right situation presents itself, you just hope they continue to develop in college.

Welcome aboard unconditional first round draft pick. For the Flames sake I hope you are a high one, but I would be okay if you are a 30th over all pick.
