^^^Yeah working out the Malkin deal with the Kings was quite the saga. Not because of getting agreement between the two teams but because of "external factors". It was a relief to get it done finally. Of the assets I gave up in the deal the guy that I think will bite me in the arse is Steen.

Wild- Dick Tarnstrom - 72OV, 66DF - $4.76m x 3
Jackets- Cory Cross - 71OV, 72 DF - $4.1m x 3
Rangers- Richard Matvichuk - 69OV, 69DF - $3.5m x 3

Really doesn't look that anomalous... that was the market this year. I wonder if teams are whining nonsense because three veteran GMs knew that the UFA market means overpayment, prepared for it, and acquired solid defenders for no assets but excess cap which they all had.

Sad that this was "the market"
