I have seen a lack of intellectual honesty in how management has handled this roster for 3 years now.
The statements made during hnic lead me to believe that we might be headed to another year of the same.
I don't care what they "say" I care about the actions and results.
The flames are easily considered bottom 5 dumbest/worst managed teams in the business.

No. Hate more maybe you'll feel better. I'll change it back when the Flames win again, I'm not a happy camper.

I see the flames hovering right around .500 all season. Just good enough to give hope and just bad enough to miss the playoffs. This is the worst possible outcome, holding onto players with declining value and not getting high picks.

Apparently very.
I am excited for Jay Feaster to hire an assistant GM. Of course, King will do the interview because Jay will be so busy, but it will be a single candidate interview and Jay will have the complete confidence of ownership.

I don't think Murray Edwards is stubborn, I just thing he's a guy that runs a pretty major company and has a lot of trust in Ken King to do what he was hired for. I think Ken King is the one who's stubborn because his priority is maximizing the dollars.

Not really. They have added scouts and invested more in scouting systems as well. If I looked at the combination of everything I would say they are trying to fight for the playoffs while rebuilding. Not selling all their assets like a bunch of losers doesn't tell you anything except they have fight in them.
But who am I to be realistic.

Continuing to say that the answers are in the room when the team repeatedly shows that it isn't good enough to make the play-offs isn't being honest.
Adding scouts and investing more in scouting systems has nothing to do with intellectual honesty and hardly shows anything other than they are willing to spend cash.
Selling assets now makes them losers? In what world?
But who I am to be realistic.

No, it shows they don't understand how asset management works in a professional sports league with a draft and a salary cap.

I hate your avatar because it shows how much you live in the past. Go get a time machine so you can actually live past.
Does that make sense?

I hope Feaster enjoys being a mediocre team ridding on the back of two old stars until they retire.

Repeat after me..."blowing it up" doesn't guarantee anything but a fun draft day,in most cases it means complete suckage for many many years (look up north)
I continue to believe this team is 2-3 pieces from being a solid team again.
Feaster gets paid 900k to get those pieces.. if he can't then he should retire.

It makes me think that they are going to let Iginla walk away for nothing during the summer. Letting him go and getting nothing in return is wost case scenario for this franchise. Same thing goes for Kipper. I'm not sipping the Kool-Aid anymore.

If the 2 to 3 pieces are a league top 5 defenceman, goalie (under 28) and center I agree.

I used to be of that belief.
I now believe the worse case scenario is the Flames re-sign him.

Alright, so how do you get those 2-3 pieces without "blowing it up"? I'm sure Feaster is all ears.

I think the last two years were handled correctly. A tandom likeIggy and Kipper dont come around that often so while there was a reasonable chance of making the playoffs with them you kept going for it. This year we clearly dont have a chance and oneof the reasons we arent close is that we are trying to rebuild. This years team would have been better with Joki in the line up. Instead we bought some lottery tickets with Cervenka and gave backlund a bigger role.
So i think it is incorrect to say we arent rebuilding. The good news is that if we keep this play up we should be out of it by deadline day. Then it is timeto move people.
