The Kings have been inconsistent this season as well, although much better of late. Flip a coin.

4-0 Flames!

Badly needed 2 points tonight.

Millions suggested yesterday that he would not be surprised if backlund came back tonight. Be nice if that were the case.

I think everyone would like to see our young talent playing. I'd like to see Blair Jones and possibly Roman Horak up with the big club. I have given up on management they are relying on players performing on their past which has not worked and frankly rarely does. You need to sign impact players such as Iginly/Kipper and fill the holes within development with young and upcoming players.

Tough loss last night. Rebound with a better effort for sure. Travel is not an issue. L.A.'s size and defensive play is the issue.

The entire game is based on how well the Flames play defensively. Flames win 2-1 in a nail biter.

If we do get Backlund back tonight, it would be a boost to our centre depth, but we shouldn't expect too much from him. It is his first game back after a long absence due to injury.

Wes Gilbertson ‏@SUNGilbertson
#Flames LW Sven Baertschi just left Staples Center with his gear, will be assigned to Abbotsford later today.

Rob Kerr ‏@SNRobKerr
@SvenBaertschi is heading to #heat in @AHLhockey and it appears Backlund ready to go tonight vs. #Kings

A little give and take but it really is the best for sven. Glad to have number 11 back.

Glad he's heading to the heat to get meaningful ice time but disappointed with how he was handled to this point.

Eklund's latest blog has 3 teams gunning for Iginla - Pittsburgh, Boston & Detroit.

also mentions Philly is interested in bouwmeester.

I hope the Flames lose and these players are traded for 1st round picks.

Bouwmeester has played up his trade value to a 1st rounder and if we can get Philly's pick, it will be a top 5!

They should lose tonight.

So they'll win tonight 5-2.

Backlund with all 5 Gio with LA's 2.

HNIC playing to the crowd.

Kings win 3-1, too big, too strong, too good.

I thought that they would for sure lose 1 game out of this trip regardless of how they played.

If it happens to ONLY be the Anaheim game, then we're still on track.

They can still come out of the trip 2-1. Just gotta give it everything they can muster tonight and monday. The Blues came in and scored 5 goals on Quick last game, so I know we can put in a few tonight if there is a consistent effort similar to the first half of last night's game, but for all 60.

Let's do this. GFG!!

Kings are too big, too talented, and too strong.

5-2 Kings. Kipper gets pulled after the first period.

Iginla and Wideman score.

Kipper stole them a game in LA last year. Will need that again if they are going to win.

I don't usually do line combos but I'm interested to see how sheltered Backlund will be tonight and how much yump he has.

Hudler - Cervenka - Iginla
Stempniak - Backlund - Cammalleri
Glencross - Stajan - Tanguay
Jackman/McGrattan - Comeau - Begin

Stajan's cooled off a bit but still playing good 2 way hockey so I'd like to see him with two struggling wingers to help advance the puck. Put Backlund with Cammy and Stempniak who have both been good recently and keep the first line together.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Stajan move up, Comeau center the 3rd, and Backlund play a few shifts on the 4th line though if he doesn't have his legs under him.

I'm sure Back will come out with lots of "yump" tonight.
