Man oh man did Phaneuf look bad tonight. a minus 3 on the night and two of the Montreal goals were a direct result of him turning over the puck in the defensive zone. And then of course he refused to drop his gloves when challenged, this guy never shows any fire at all.

Did you see Phaneuf kick the guys glove back to him when he (Phaneuf) didn't want to fight.

Kronwall has been a beast so far in the LA/Wings game. Seems like he's never off the ice.

Both teams play very hard.

Yeah, it's been a great game to watch. Shows you how far the Flames have to go to be a good hockey team.

Nice goal by Kopitar.

2-1 Kings with just over 4 minutes left.

Didn't see the game but from the TSN2 extended highlights it looked like an awful night for Dion. The refusal to fight when challenged was just embarrassing. What has happened to him?

The sad truth. A bunch of free agents mixed together might have success for a year or two, but good teams are built from the bottom up. Things need to get a lot worse before they get better.

Detroit has not scored a single power play goal on the road in 8 games this year

Are you talking about the situation where Prust was trying to fight him while Montreal was on a 5 minute powerplay? Why would Phaneuf fight him at that point? Plus the Canadiens were waiting for Prust to get onside so they could get back into the offensive zone, so it was killing a lot of time. It was actually pretty smart. Phaneuf was the least of their problems last night.

That would have been a truly idiotic time for Phaneuf to fight. Refusing to get sucked into it was one of the few good decisions Dion made last night.

That Gallagher kid continues to impress. Loved him at the WJHC for Canada and he is still going strong.

He was always reluctant to accept challenges.
