Most of these guys aren't even in the country.
I doubt that they would come after you unless you impacted them financially or legally.
Make them pay for the shipping of the vehicle and when the shipping company shows up send them away, a nice 4 figure cancelled shipping bill at least impacts them.

If they didn't get me with the first vengeance, I wouldn't be too concerned about being harmed by their revengeance.

If these guys had any serious crime connections or were willing to go after others for revenge, they'd probably be in a better area of crime than: low end internet fraud.
The majority of these guys live in Nigeria. If they were located locally, they'd be fairly easy to trace with the paper/internet trail they leave behind.

Fair enough. My brother is an engineer and says the same thing. However, you still need some basic writing requirements to be an engineer.
I like the point about an engineer not buying a vehicle prior to inspection. In fact, who buys a vehicle based on pictures alone?

Also, just as a pointer moving forward is that there is no mention of 'pickup truck' in the email or questions about it, meaning that it's a scripted, automated email.

The way this scam usually works (they usually don't want your vehicle) is that once the deal is agreed upon they send you the payment for the car and the shipping instructions. You then transfer the money from your pay pal into whatever account they say pays for the shipping. A few days later Pay Pal claims the funds were BS and want their money from you but you have already moved some or all of it. They now have your money which you transferred and have emptied the account.
Sometimes they send a fake Pay Pal link or they scan directly through Pay Pal.

I disagree. I switch my vehicle almost yearly, and now all I use is kijiji to buy and sell. I get the odd scam attempt, but other than that, what's wrong with kijiji? Where else is there to list? Auto trader? Bargain Finder? Craigslist? Why bother, it's all on kijiji.
