Poorly used by Sutter. Always liked him. One of the hardest workers this year. A keeper. To heck with those who dislike him. Same ones who dislike Babchuk, Irving, Butler and Comeau.

You know he's playing much better when even good ole I_H8_Crawford pops in just to say that he doesn't hate Stajan anymore.

He was actually quite good towards the end of last season when he finally saw more ice time.
March/April Stats:
19 games
5 G, 5 A
+6
17:20 TOI in March, 16:29 in April
Combine that with his start to this season:
32 GP
6 G, 10 A
+13
Really nice to see.

Stajan has been great so far and uped his value on this crap team.
Sound familiar (Maple laughs)

Who would you say has been? I'll give you that Comeau has been equally as consistent, as has Iggy actually, but I don't think in the way the poster meant.

haha dissentowner has been waiting years to make this thread.
Really liking Stajan so far this season. Playing with a lot more confidence, putting up a couple points, and one of three plus players - the highest by a pretty good margin.

Kind of have to wonder about most flames players productions under the B Sutter era. Dion might have had another 10 points in that trade season and gotten a better return. Lots of what if's.

Stajan is an average to good 2nd line centre who is at his best playing a prime offensive role for a nonplayoff team. That has been his MO before he got here. He's not a bottom 6 guy. Stajan is more of a playmaker who needs playing time to be productive. But I'm not going to join the praise Stajan club just yet. The guy's been on losing teams for so long I just don't believe he's a player you can win with.

I'm willing to bet he still has 0 trade value. If he was put on waivers, I'm pretty sure he'd pass

If Stajan had been good for 2.5 seasons and had been hot garbage this season, everyone would be ripping him a new one.
Only fair that it goes both ways.
"What have you done for me lately" -mentality fits sports well.

a usual stajan hater here.
not sure why he hasn't landed a spot on the top line with iginla yet, but somehow comeau has been given the opportunity.
tanguay - stajan - iginla
this line needs to be tried. the team sucks, might as well try something different.

^Agreed, though I'd slightly prefer a Stajan, Iginla and Cammalleri line. Either way, trying Stajan with Iginla is a no-brainer.

Putting Stajan on the top line worked fairly well last year. I don't see why we won't try it again.
Stajan has played well with the Czech's as well.

Stajan is currently the only real centre playing on this team that has proven nhl experience. There is a reason why he is the catalyst for his line right now. Whether its with stempniak and glencross or the Czechs his line always looks the most dangerous. Give him a shot with iggy and maybe he can be the catalyst that gets th captain going

I think Stajan needs to be put on the Czech line rather than the Iginla line. The days of the Iginla line automatically being the #1 unit are over. For tonight I would like to see the following:
Hudler - Stajan - Cervenka
Cammalleri - Tanguay - Iginla
Glencross - Horak - Stempniak
Comeau - Jackman - Begin
Yeah it's cute that we can have an all Czech line and everything, but I actually don't think Horak works well between the other two guys. I would actually prefer if we can play Horak as a winger, but unfortunately, we don't have that luxury on this team.

I disagree. I think he's crept out of that basement. He also has a front loaded contract.
So for this year and next, he has a 3.5 cap hit and a 2.5 million salary. As the cap is of no effect to many teams, there's a good chance someone takes a shot on him at 2.5 million. We'd probably get a 3rd-4th round pick at this point, if he keeps up his play, maybe even a 2nd.
