yeah i just looked...it was the following year the Bruins led by grapes got beat by Bowman and maybe the most ridiculously good team in NHL history.

Look at this freaking roster...just unreal.

lol the Leafs actually made the playoffs thanks to the crappy Cleveland Barons.
Back then 3 out 4 teams from every division made the playoffs.

But that 10 pts was just bizarre it was a 11-4 game and the puck just seemed to follow Sittler around. A pass would go off a players a skate right to him. Also Salming was on fire that night too.

I remember the announcer saying over and over "and that is another point for Sittler"!
Dave Reece was a rookie Bruins goalie and after that complete meltdown never played again in the NHL.

good call T99 i had to check on that i must have had the 76-77 season mixed up with the 75-76 season.

Flyers lost to the habs in the SC. Bruins lost to the Flyers in semi's.

Leafs made the playoff due to not the crappy Cleveland Barons, but the crappy California Seals.
Bruins won the Adam division.

It was the following year that Tor made it in again because the Cleveland was the worst team and the Bruins lost in SC to the Habs.

Pretty amazing group hey. I am going to guess without looking that there was maybe 10 HOF players on that Hab's team.

I think this was before VCR's and Beta, just as records were going out of style in favour of cassette tapes, 8-Track's were still around and disco was starting to rise . . . . . so an average fan isn't going to have a copy lying in a box somewhere. No one does.

He really does have a one of a kind item . . . . . then again, maybe he's lost it. Taped over it? Probably not. It's probably not a cassette you drop into a machine. Its probably a roll of tape.

My favourite player in the day . . . . . then again, if you were growing up in small town Alberta, you had one television station to watch and one hockey game a week and usually it was only one team featured every week, the Leafs and he was the Captain.

7 of 10 bad goals by today's standards...his record is probably safe, how often does a team put up 10?

On average less than once a year. St. Louis beat Detroit 10-3 a year or 2 ago, and of course there was Edmonton's debacle of monumental proportions in 2008 or 2009. It was probably way more common in the 70s and 80s I'd imagine. I'm sure the Oilers in the 80s did it on multiple occasions, but that's just guessing on my part. Too lazy to look it up.
