Seabrook for sure over Coburn for me, I'm a fan of his since Junior. Many didn't think he should've been in Vancouver but he proved himself there. Also Boyle, Burns, heck maybe even PK over Coburn,
Tyler Myers to.

Iggy has two gold medals as an average of 2.0 points per game in Olympic Gold Medal game victories.
They'd be foolish not to take him.
The plethora of young talent is awesome, but you need a veteran presence. In 2014 he'd be that.

Do they really need a veterans presence? In this day and age captains of Stanley cup teams are in their low 20's. I would be very surprised if Iggy made it.

Ferraro's team looks weak in goal.

The Pens, Kings, Bruins, Ducks, etc., all had great veterans on the team.
The Canadian team, as it is right now, has zero.
I guarantee that Iginla will be the captain of this team.

Yeah, the veteran presence thing is a tad over rated for this type of event.
Most of the players on Team Canada will have 5+ years experience playing at the highest possible level.....and many of them will have won a Stanley Cup, and been a part of the Gold Medal win in 2010.
If Iggy is playing well, and sniping, he will get consideration though.

Richards, Stall, Nash, Weber, Crosby, Perry, Keith, just a few who are all veterans at this point in their careers.

All Iggy does is prove how extremely well he plays with talent but I bet he is overlooked.
Currently Iglinla has the most Current Olympic goals for Canada and 3rd in pts.

If healthy, Crosby will be the captain. I would personally like to see Toews as the captain. I'd also take Iginla on the team well before Richards, if his play doesn't drop at all in the next year

Mike Richards
Sydney Crosby
Ryan Getzlaf
Corey Perry
Eric Staal
Drew Doughty
Brent Seabrook
Patrice Bergeron
Duncan Keith
Jonathan Toews
....all these guys are NHL vets, with countless individual achievements & awards, Stanley Cup rings, and Olympic Gold.
They won't need Iggy for "veteran presence", but they will consider him if he's scoring goals still.

Don't leave Jay Bouwmeester out of it quite yet... He was supposed to be a lock for the Vancouver squad.
Doughty, Keith, Pietrangelo, Weber, and Letang seem like locks to me so there's really only room for 1 more.

Yes, and one of the most prolific Olympic scorers in history / two time gold medal winner would be a perfect fit.

I believe in the Pony Power

If you are taking a Staal it has to be Eric (and Marc). Not Jordan.

I certainly hope they go for talent over "veteran presence."
If having multiple Olympic Gold medalists as well as Stanley Cup champions on the team isn't enough for veteran leadership then Canada is in big trouble and basically every other team has no shot at winning.

I would imagine this years playoffs will play a large role in deciding which candidates rise to the top of the list.

Just because Pang believes he should be there, do you think the rest of the network does? It's one man's opinion. I agree, it's a silly one at this point, but the panel's selections or opinions don't go thru head office or anything. Get on Pang all you want, but why make it sound like TSN has a big hard on for the Oilers. If that's the way the panelists feel, that's the way they feel. It's their opinion. I have a hard time believing there's a mandate from the higher ups at the network that tells their panelists to blow the Oilers any chance they get.

I guess you guys mean that "veteran presence" is age. I don't see it like that.
