Like I mentioned previously, if the aircraft shows up yellow it should be in real time, if it is orange it has the 5 minute delay the FAA requires.

Some of the flights in the Calgary area do show up in the real time, and I have watched them pass right overhead as the icon on the map does the same thing. With the iphone/ipad app you can actually point the camera up at the aircraft and it should be able to tell you which one it is (still haven't got around to trying that yet).

Skysafari is also good for this. Same idea if you're into stars and planets etc.

Uh looks like there is an extremely lost plane. Supposed to be flying from Orange County to San Francisco it is currently just north of Kimberly, BC. I think some people are about to be very disappointed

Just a glitch, that is probably a route that flight (Skywest 6414) operated prior to the one being shown in the air, looks to be heading up to YEG most likely.

Has to be a glitch, I was watching one yesterday that was Detriot to Boston that appeared to be making it's way over Baffin Island....

Like I mentioned earlier, there was one from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City flying over Greenland. The more I look, the more glitches I find.

Has anyone downloaded the newest version of the app for the iphone/ipad?

I did and it is barely showing any of the FAA radar feed traffic now, just a few flights compared to the hundreds that showed up before.

I've tried toggling the option on and off and closing the app a few times to see if it would make any difference but no luck.

Africa is mostly a blank slate. Flying to Tanzania in 2008, I seem to remember someone saying there was no regional traffic control like you see in most places.

That might be changing as per this story. http://www.newtimes.co.rw/news/index...=14545&a=38595
