Rathji is right, if you use Parkplus with any regularity you should register an account. Not only is it easier to phone in but you can also cancel your session when you leave and the remaining time/money is credited back to your account. You can also cheat if you get stuck in a meeting, you can call in and cancel your session and then call back right away and start a new one if you go past the 2 hour limit.

Anyone remember having to run down to the street and plug your meter

You might be able to call them and offer to pay for the time you used after the fact. Just explain that you were running late and the machine close by was broken, but you still want to pay for the parking you used.
