I used to love wearing my retro jersey.. until my wife had it emblazened with my first initial and last name... and the "C" as a birthday present. I might feel like less of a doofus wearing it in public if it weren't for the "C".

For the replica jersey it is about showing support for the team and because everyone wearing the same jersey in the saddledome has to be intimidating for the other team.
For the retro red sweater - partly because it is warm, partly because it still shows support for the team.

I never buy any Jerseys with names on them. I do it mostly because I am not ashamed of what teams I cheer for and just for something different to wear.
Currently in my collection.
Flames: red, white, old school red,
Eskimos: Green
BlueJays: dark blue and white (cause the new Jays Jerseys kickas$)
Broncos: old school orange, old school white, new blue
Patriots: blue
Canada Hockey: old school canada cup white and red, new red
Toronto FC: red

I wonder then, how many of you guys do/can wear it to work. The regular jersey itself is another great layer for a cold day I've just found. Today is an ideal day to wear one...

Just to simply show support for the team. After this lockout however, any future jersey will be nameless and numberless.

I actually think that Mighty Ducks one is worth some decent coin...

That being said people should never wear a jersey when going out, especially a hockey jersey. Wear one to a game or even to watch a game at the bar but it looks goofy and generally pretty horrendous when you see a guy wearing a jersey out and about.

I think there's some sort of sense of being involved in the game even though you're not directly involved. People will talk to you about it. It gives the whole thing a sense of occasion. Actually, come to think of it, I guess it's not dissimilar to wearing a tux to an evening event.
I don't even necessarily get the hometown jersey, either. I have a Sabres jersey and a Flyers jersey and was thinking of getting an Islanders jersey this year with Tavares crested, sometimes it's just for the player.

Yeah okay there are certain teams whose jerseys I will never get.
Though I actually have to be among the small but persistent group of maybe 40 people worldwide who really liked that alternate oilers jersey with the gear and the oil drop in dark navy.

I'd never bought one but I've been given a couple. Good gift idea for fans.

The last jersey I bought was a Calgary Hitmen #8 Pavel Brendl. At the time I bought it I was thinking he was going to be a star with the Rangers. Of course he turned out to be a massive bust and it is now collecting dust in my closet
Other than that I have a 30 year old Bobby Orr Bruins jersey that I would love to get autographed and framed.

I bought a Flames jersey because it's sort of an identifier of who you are. Like anything, a haircut, shoes, piercings, tattoos. It's about who you want to be.
I often wear my Heat jersey around town. People look at me like I'm from another planet, but I'm all, "yeah, that's right. I'm one of those 2000 people who go to Heat games on a regular basis."

If your team is playing that night it is a great go to and easy choice on what to wear.
