Episode 6 is up!
The guys discuss the Flames/Wild game from last Tuesday, the fact the Flames only have one natural centre on this team. We play armchair GM and talk about who we might trade for to bring some more depth down the middle to Calgary. Is it possible to successfully convert a winger to a centre? The Islanders get ribbed…hey maybe they can convert DiPietro to centre so he’d at least be useful to their team. Somehow Lucas ends up comparing the Flames to fat girls at the bar.

Episode 8: Are The Cupboards Really Bare?
http://www.firesidechat.ca/episode-8
It has been said for years that the "cupboards are bare in Calgary" - the Flames don't have many prospects in their organization that have the potential to become NHL players. With the state the Flames are in, they need prospects who can step into the NHL in the next few years. Is it still true the cupboards are bare? This week we look at the young players in the Flames organization and who could be future NHL players and who won't, as well as looking ahead to the NHL Entry Draft and the players available.

Episode 9: Go Flames Go...For The Long Term
http://www.firesidechat.ca/episode-9
The three man panel is back together for this episode, where Lucas provides some interesting stats about past "cinderella teams" and why the Flames don't have the make up this year to make the playoffs. We discuss what the Flames have to do to rebuild but avoid the fate of other teams who've rebuilt recently like the Oilers, Blue Jackets, and Islanders, and other Flames topics.

Yeah episode seven was a bit of a mess. The rest of them do not have that issue.

Episode 10: Feaster…Change You Can Believe In?
http://www.firesidechat.ca/episode-10
Are Flames fans finally starting to lose their passion for the team? The guys would rather discuss ATB commercials and the NHL 94 and 97 video games than talk about the Flames this week. How does the pending Jarome Iginla trade compare to the Theo Fleury trade - both in magnitude and return? With Jay Feaster getting criticism from fans we debate how well Feaster has done during his tenure as GM.
Note: We recorded this episode before the Iginla trade took place.

Episode 11: Welcome to the Rebuild
http://www.firesidechat.ca/episode-11
On this week’s episode the guys discuss the Flames big deals from the last week – Jarome Iginla and Jay Bouwmeester leaving town, and how the assets that are coming back help kickstart the “rebuild”. With Kipper being the only star player left in a Flames jersey, we talk about how his rumoured retirement next year would affect the team and that number 34 needs to be retired by the team, and not “honoured”.

I enjoy your podcasts but (and I mean this in a constructive way) you really need to edit more carefully before you post them. This one had about 10 ish mins of prep talk before the podcast started. Good luck with your podcast

Thanks for the heads up. We had some technical issues this week that we were trying to work through with the audio files and for some reason the raw file got uploaded instead of the finished edited file. It's been fixed now, and the proper version is available.

Episode 12: The One Without Dan
http://www.firesidechat.ca/episode-12
This week Dan is out, but Lucas and Matt discuss the history of the "Fireside Chat" name, how the prospects the Flames have brought up and how they're looking so far, the Flames lack of a defensive system, how the veterans like Alex Tanguay who are left on the Flames roster are doing since the departure of Jarome Iginla.

Episode 13: The Farm Kids Are Looking Good
http://www.firesidechat.ca/episode-13
This week we boast a little bit about the Flames big win over the Oilers, what the Oilers have done wrong in their re-build and what the Flames can learn from it. Lucas brings up the Flames need to get tougher, and wonders which of the Flames prospects could fit that role, and we discuss which prospects are Restricted Free Agents this summer, and who we’d resign and who we’d let go.

Episode 14: Lucas vs. Glenn Healy
http://www.firesidechat.ca/episode-14
Lucas compares himself to a well respected hockey broadcaster, and picks a fight with another. We discuss Mark Cundari’s Flames debut and his future with the club and Lucas proposes that next year the team needs a new look – players growing mullets and wearing fake mustaches. What will the future look like for the Flames in goal in a post-Kipper era? The guys also discuss what they'd do in UFA season if they sat in the GM seat.
