Gawd I hope they bring smaller denominations back to Canada. Why is it impossible in this stupid country to take out a pretty common amount like 50 or 100 bucks? You want to take out 50 bucks? Nope. It's 40 or 60, but not 50. You want a hundred? Nope. It's 80 or 120, but never a hundred.
They still print 10's, last I checked.
Merci, Mr. Trudeau.

I love his dry sense of humor, and watching all his posts get taken at face value.

As part of the 1%, I'd simply like to know why these machines won't give out $1000 bills. I mean really, who wants to have to carry around all this poor people money?

Banks charge a % too. It's cheaper for me to use a credit card in the US than it is to exchange through a bank or pull out cash via an ATM.

I know when we order cash, though we charge a spread, it is cheaper then using credit or debit cards.

Yeah. my credit card charges more than the withdrawal fee. A lot of credit unions in the US don't charge on their end for using their ATMs, so I take out the max I can. The only trouble is rolling around with that much cash.
It'd be worse if I made the wad larger with 5s and 10s

I am on the other end wishing the Canadian bank machines would start dispensing 50s and 100s.
It is annoying when you take out 3 or 4 hundred and get a bajillion 20 dollar bills.

Conversely though, the most "balling" feeling in my life was when I was 16, and got the teller to give me all $20s when I was withdrawing cash to buy my first car. You'd be amazed how fat of a stack $4,000 is when its all in twenties.

Yeah, because 15 twenty dollar bills for three hundred or 20 twenty dollar bills for four hundred equal roughly a bajiliion. Thanks for the conversion.
But seriously, one of the Scotiabank ATMs in Midnapore dispenses 50s and 10s. It does come in handy when making a large cash purchase.
