If this is true he will have another job........quickly.
He may come across like a jerk in most interviews but its refreshing to see Gm's who speak their mind and aren't always trying to appease the media.

Makes zero sense to fire him now. Why now?

Something bizarre must have happened, otherwise why would he have kept his job over the summer until just before the season starts?

Is this confirmed... or just another case of twitter accounts tricking people into thinking it's reliable news?

Holy wow. What a weird timing for a firing. All the buzz was that he had to get the leafs into the playoffs this year to have a chance at keeping the job.

Which still isnt as strange as firing a guy a week before the season begins whilst paying him the last 4 months of a lockout and allowing him to run the most recent draft.

Baffling timing.

I'm with tranny, just a really strange time to can him. They must have someone lined up to take over today or tomorrow.

I'm guessing it has something to do with a trade with one party not wanting it to be done, or the direction the team is taking, or a combination of the two. I could see Burke being an ass and telling them to fire him before he'll do a certain move.

Was it possibly to stop him from trading for Loungo? Could it be that the owners didn't want to pay Bobby Lou until the end of time?

That was my thinking too. He didn't do much in Vancouver, and he won in Anaheim because of the work of his predecessor. Toronto was his baby from the start, and it has been a massive failure.

He's got name potential, however, so somebody is going to hire him, probably late in this season or in the summer.
