The Global TV clip seemed to show the accident happened in the left lane, unless that's just where they ended up. Would anyone actually consider that the left shoulder on a freeway is a smart/safe place to stop, even if being pulled over by a cop?

This same officer has been rear-ended twice now. I think he might want to change locations.

There is no way I'd pull over on Deerfoot unless there was a spot where I could pull WELL off the road. Even on slower speed roads, I have always made a point to stop out of traffic, if possible.

This is the second time this officer has been injured on Deerfoot in less than a year.

Not sure about Deerfoot, but on Crowchild they just plant their police car in the middle of 2 lanes and hold up traffic while writing the ticket. Cops truly make it nearly impossible not to hate them sometimes. They display more arrogance than any other job out there.
