Also confirmed he has spent time in juvenile detention, according to his FB page.

Killing someone in general is far less psychopathic than this act.
Psychopathy is not about what someone does, but how they do it. Pouring booze on an unconscious person and lighting them on fire is 10/10 psychopathic.
Exactly. The act is irrelevant, it's the intent of harming a defenseless person for no discernible reason that is pretty much a definition of a psychopath.

I'm not defending the guy, but calling him a psychopath based on this little of information is premature to say the least.
From Wikipedia: Psychopathy is a personality disorder that has been variously described as characterized by shallow emotions (including reduced fear, a lack of empathy, and stress tolerance), coldheartedness, egocentricity, superficial charm, manipulativeness, irresponsibility, impulsivity, criminality, antisocial behavior, a lack of remorse, and a parasitic lifestyle.

First thing I noticed. It was probably the marijuana that made him do that (see: Reefer Madness Movie).

Well, he clearly had a lack of empathy doing it in the first the place, probably wasn't scared to do it since he seems to like doing it to himself, egocentric for taking self-pictures in the mirror, very irresponsible, probably acted on impulse / crime of opportunity, has had run-ins with the law, and ######bags are usually parasites off good-natured people.
when i first heard about this on our local news my initial thought was, "obviously canucks fans" ... you know, the whole getting drunk and lighting things on fire thing just fits
from our local media....

During the course of the investigation into the incident, police believe this may not be the first time one of the accused had lit someone on fire who had been incapacitated by drugs or alcohol.

There are quite a bit of videos of these guys setting themselves and their friends on fire. They're all giggling while they're doing it. They put it up on face book to look cool. They light people on fire and put it out before anyone gets burnt. This time they used too much accelerant and couldn't put it out. It's pretty stupid, but I doubt it was malicious. This was probably a friend of the guy who he was expecting to show the footage to tomorrow when he woke up. It's dumb and he should be charged, but this isn't psychopathic.

If you think setting someone on fire is funny, and makes you giggle like a school girl. I would think you are insane to a slight degree.
I like to play a game called "speed at a bus stop full of people in a rusty '81 Parissienne Station Wagon with a giant novelty sword on the hood." I then slam on the brakes and swerve at the last second. It's all in good fun. I am an OK guy though. Because I like kitties!

It's a very dumb prank. Perhaps a very mean spirited prank, but it's dumb s*** that dumb kids do when they get together and get drunk and therefore even dumber. Kids do do this kind of stuff. And before everyone goes, 'well I've never done this sort of stuff when I was young,' we've already heard similar stories (perhpas not involving fire, but pretty damn dumb) from a few of you who have already posted.
Unfortunately it takes an incident like this to show them just how dumb and dangerous it is. Cause they don't have enough forward thinking skills to figure it out beforehand.
This is not me defending this kid or anyone else who does dumb stuff, or participates in bullying (which this may or may not fall under) but it is me saying this is hardly a 'what is the world coming to?', 'the sky is falling', type of moment.
