I wouldn't be suprised if Marquez tested positive for PEDs after this fight. 39 years old and he is gaining muscle mass like a madman.

Round 5 could be the best round of boxing I have watched in a long time.

He had a strength trainer for this fight who did nothing but pack the muscle on him. First time he's even done that.

And for those who missed the fight, watch one of the sports channels. I see Sportsmet has the highlights coming up in a couple minutes.

Can't wait for the 5th fight. I thought Pacquiao's career was over when Jinkee was shrieking running into the ring. It's good to see he looked ok in the interview after and wants to continue fighting.

Not sure how much longer Marquez could have survived another 2-3 rounds with that broken nose.

What a fight though! Best news of the nite. Mayweather can kiss his $100million payday goodbye! haha
I thought his nose was broken as well. Apparently it wasn't.

Even if it wasn't he would still have to breathe through his mouth and a straight left could have broken his jaw. What a fight though!

hmmmmm just found out his strength coach is Angel Hernandez, former Balco chemist.... WTF was Marquez thinking?

Are we sure that Pacquiao isn't going to like ... die in a couple hours?

That was ruthless.

I missed the fight, but did check out the TKO in the last round (it's all over Youtube), and man, the slowmo replay shows how much power was put into that knockout punch. You see the reverbration from Pacquaio's face to the back of his neck, to the top of his back. What a punishing blow. If someone finds a video of the entire fight, please post!

Yes in many ways it was a lucky punch, but at the same time Pacquiao has had a tendency his last few fights to leave himself open to these shots and someone finally cashed a mistake in. Obviously the 5th fight is the only option really for both since its the biggest money fight left, and I'm not sure either one has more than one left. Maybe something in Manila or Mexico City would be huge.

I never seen Pacquiao goes down like that before. Usually he covers himself when throwing a jab or hitting with his right hand. Funny how boxing works, one lucky punch and pow down goes the boxer. Actually I have seen one lucky punch before that put the boxer. How about that no-name boxer (can't remember his name now) had a lucky punch on Mike Tyson that stops the bout.
Manny Pacquiao always have problem with Marquez' style of boxing compare to the rest of the boxers he fought. Something about this guy that makes him lose his composure. I can't say Marquez is a dominant fighter because whenever he fought someone else he doesn't even fight the way he fights PacMan. Oh well, i hope not to see Pacquiao-Marquez 5. I am sick of it.

I think calling it a lucky punch is way underselling Marquez.

Without that punch he still is winning the fight at the end of the round. He had already knocked down Pacquaio and was hurting him in pretty much every round.

Maybe I have a different definition of lucky punch than others in here but to me a lucky punch is a punch from a lesser guy that he normally would have no shot at landing. Marquez (at least against Pacquaio) had shown more than enough that he has the skill to land big damaging shots against him.

Marquez was not winning at the time of the stoppage. and before the knock out punch i'm pretty Pacquaio was hurting him more. Broke his nose and they say now that Marquez has a concussion also.

I thought he didn't break his nose.

i meant winning on score cards. Didn't see the fight and could only go off what I read but in terms of "winning" the fight off the scorecards from what I read it seemed to be pretty back and forth with nobody winning or doing more at that point and each guy hurting the other at times.

Yeah marquez wasn't winning on the score cards. he was down at least 2 points on my scorecard and hbo's and he was down 1 point in all 3 judges score cards.

There is no way you can 'read' about this fight. go watch the replay on HBO next Saturday. It's epic.

I've watched this fight like 3 times now. Definitely one of the best fights in the past 5 years for sure. Pacquaio had him.... until the punch! whammo.

Pacquiao was up 47-46 on all 3 official scorecards after 5 rounds and he was probably winning the 6th.

I have no idea how Marquez even stayed on his feet the last minute of the 5th round. The 6th round was a bit more even. Manny wanted to go for the kill because

A) Marquez was bleeding and ready to go...

B) Manny really wanted to finish it, especially when people said he didn't deserve to win fight #3. He wanted to end this saga with a resounding knockout.

And he got caught.
If was a great fight, how boxing should be, not jab and run for 12 rounds and win.

Pierre McGuire, do you have a link to the fight online by any chance?

Wow, what a fight! 5th round was something else. Probably the best main even I've seen in the past 10 years, because they were both going for the knockout throughout as opposed to the decision.
